Can You Tell Me a Bit About Your Writing?
My motivations stem from my natural fascination and passion for fantasy and science fiction storytelling. To me, those two genres serve as perfect conduits for which to explore deep, meaningful aspects of life and relationships while immersed in something very other and fantastical. In addition, I’m very inspired by the surge of diversity that is long overdue in these genres, and I strive in my worldbuilding to ensure it can accommodate without issue more diverse settings and characters than what has, in the past, dominated fantasy and scifi. In particular, I want more queer characters in mainstream books. As a teenager, I found it difficult to find and enjoy genre books that featured queer characters that I could identify with as a gay man. That has, of course, quickly changed over the last decade, but I still hope to introduce the types of characters that I desperately searched for in my younger years. Oddly, my debut doesn’t focus as much on this as one might think, but this debut is simply setting the stage for the types of queer characters and relationships that I am excited to explore in my writing.
The Jealousy of Jalice

“A slick, modern sword-and-sorcery tale!”―
Christopher Ruocchio, Author of The Sun Eater series
About
The Realms have split apart, the Stones of Elation have been hidden, and warnings of dokojin drift among the tribes.
The land and its people are corrupted. The Sachem, chief of the Unified Tribes, is to blame.
It is this conviction that drives Annilasia and Delilee to risk their lives. Afraid of the aether magic he wields, they enact a subtler scheme: kidnap his wife. In her place, Delilee will pretend to be the chieftess and spy on the Sachem.
Unaware of this plot against her husband, Jalice is whisked away by Annilasia. Pleading with her captor proves futile, and she rejects Annilasia’s delusional accusations against the chief. After all, the Sachem has brought peace to the land.
Yet a dangerous truth hides in Jalice’s past. As she and Annilasia flee through a forest of insidious threats, they must confront the evil plaguing the tribes and the events that unleashed it.
