Back cover blurb:
Tagline: “ORION was formed to protect the world. Neither may survive the night.”
Decades after an alien refugee’s arrival gave rise to superpowered beings, ORION, humanity’s orbiting crisis aversion organization, faces its darkest hour as the world’s protector.
When religious extremists seize The Bastion, the Western Hemisphere’s most advanced research center, ORION’s elite team deploys to break the siege. But the mission goes sideways—fast. Cynder, the smoldering leader haunted by his missing brother, discovers the terrorists have ties to his own family. Strident, his second-in-command, fights to hold the team together while suppressing her own ambitions. And behind it all, a shadow faction driven by vengeance hunts for a top-secret ORION project connected to the catastrophe that changed the world twenty years ago.
As ORION’s enemies close in from every direction—and the United Nations prepares to destroy ORION’s orbital headquarters—the team must overcome their egos, grief, and dark secrets to survive. But even if they win the battle, they may have already lost humanity’s trust…And something far worse looms in the darkness of space.
