UNEARTHED STORIES PRESENTS
Back in August, we helped share the exciting news that Unearthed Stories, a unique reading app where adult readers can experience text-based interactive speculative fiction for free, would start inviting on indie authors to add their short stories to the ever-growing digital library.
And I’m happy to share that it’s already time for the announcement of the next short story that’s been acquired by author Livia J. Elliot and her husband Fernando Gamboa (owner of Prowess Games), also known as the masterminds behind Unearthed Stories.
That’s right, it’s cover reveal time, babyyy! So, buckle up and get ready for the fun.
Coming December 3rd:
Dreams of the Sky by Karl Forshaw
Dreams of the Sky by Karl Forshaw
BLURB:
I wake each day to a blinding darkness, where food is delivered by monsters that defy the senses. The tunnels are filled with elusive creatures whose screams and moans haunt me, and my only company is The Rat. Only, today is important. The Rat insists. For today is the day that I break free of all that is black and blinding, and taste the cool and damp freedom that leaks from the crack in the stone. The sky awaits, but only if I am brave enough to reach for it.
Friends, I seriously cannot tell you how excited this announcement makes me, because Karl Forshaw is one of those exceptionally gifted authors who managed to become an all-time favourite for me after reading only one book. His debut novel, Renia, is one of the best genreblendy gems out there, and I am so delighted to dip back into the mysteriously mystifying world of Luna Ruinam with this standalone 9K-word short story.
Now, I think we can all agree that Livia J. Elliot did an absolutely phenomenal job with the alluring cover art of Dreams of the Sky. Though, for those not yet familiar with Forshaw’s writing (shame on you, go read Renia), I will just warn you that the story itself will most definitely be much less dreamy and light-hearted than the cover promises it to be. Get ready for some dark, gritty, psychological fantasy horror that will pack a big emotional punch in just a few minutes of reading!
And if you don’t trust my word for it, I will just leave you with this little teaser of Forshaw’s beautifully soul-stirring writing to get you even more excited for Dreams of the Sky. Cheers!

About the author:
Karl Forshaw was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. After a successful career as a contract software developer and all the travel that came with it, he settled down on the edge of the countryside with his wife, children, and dog, where he now resides. He writes from his basement to a soundtrack of obscure music, drinking too much coffee and watching his fish grow.
